New Horizons Of Progress!

Esteemed Prime Minister of our nation, Mr. Maharashtra has witnessed remarkable advancement over the past decade under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi. Numerous airports across our state have undergone transformational changes, bolstering the nation’s industries and significantly boosting both domestic and international trade. This remarkable transformation owes much to Modiji’s foresight.

During the recent presentation of the Interim Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the ongoing expansion of existing airports and the rapid development of new ones. She underscored the phenomenal growth of the aviation sector over the past decade, with the number of airports doubling to 149.

Friends, the Udan Yojana initiated by the central government has led to a massive expansion of air connectivity in tier-two and tier-three cities. This initiative has facilitated travel for 1.3 crore passengers across 517 new routes. Additionally, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced ‘in-principle’ approval for 21 new greenfield airports nationwide, including ones in Maharashtra such as Navi Mumbai, Shirdi, and Sindhudurg. These airports are poised to revolutionise air travel and cater to the diverse needs of travellers.

For six decades, citizens have yearned for a connection between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled this long standing dream by inaugurating the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link Bridge. The upcoming New Mumbai International Airport, slated to open between November and December, is expected to catalyse significant development in New Mumbai, offering vast opportunities for trade and employment.

Recently, Modiji inaugurated new terminals at Pune and Kolhapur airports via video conferencing. The bustling city of Pune attracts numerous visitors daily, yet its old terminal struggled to accommodate the influx. With cooperation from the Ministry of Defense, a new terminal has been constructed, adorned with a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and vibrant murals reflecting our local culture. Similarly, Kolhapur is set to receive a terminal befitting its rich historical legacy as part of the Maratha Empire.

As a proud Maharashtrian, I rejoice in these developments and extend my best wishes for the continued prosperity and growth of our state. Here’s to soaring to new heights of development!
